A friend wrote this to me a little while ago, but will not explain what it means to me.

Could anyone help me translate this, and the general sentiment behind it?

Нельзя ждать от человека то, что ему несвойственно. Вы же не выжимаете лимон, чтобы получить томатный сок.

Much appreciated!

"One should not expect from a person what is unnatural for him. Nobody press a lemon to get a tomato juice."

It is a kind of aphorizm of unknown origin.
